The classic Federation style in this upgrade is celebrated with the use of authentic brick work, various types of dressed and undressed stone and stained timber as used by the original builders. The newer extension at the rear is reclothed with the same-period facade to make it a continuation of the home. A unique feature is the free standing pergola surrounded by a privacy garden on the large tiled balcony. The owner’s request for more socialising space has been accommodated by relocating the entertaining room to the ground floor where it flows out into an expansive covered area which in turn connects to the large timber deck and pool. Complementary landscaping completes the transformation.
